Mathieu | Search and Destroy (12" x 12")

$590.00

Tyran Mathieu, known as the “Honey Badger” for his tenacity on defense, is shown in this pose as he seeks out his target on the opposing team.

Selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft, Mathieu established himself as one of the league’s top defensive players in Arizona and Houston, before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs prior to the start of the 2019 season.

In Kansas City, he has become a fan favorite, and is an anchor on the defensive side of the ball. He has been named a first-team NFL All-Pro three times, twice as a Chief. Mathieu was also named to the league’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s. He is active in the local community, earning him deserved respect off the field as well as on it.

This original oil painting is one in a series of portraits of some of Kansas City’s favorite contemporary sports figures completed in a 12” x 12” format. This piece was done in alla prima (wet-on-wet, in one session) using a variety of red shades against a background of primarily blue colors.

This is an original oil painting on canvas. It measures 12” tall by 12” wide. It sells in a dark gray metal frame and is ready to hang. Free shipping in the U.S.
