Mahomes | Locked and Loaded (12" x 12") - SOLD

$0.00

In a pose that is familiar to fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, and strikes fear into the hearts of opponents, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is “locked and loaded,” about to deliver a strike to one of his receivers.

Taken as the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL draft out of Texas Tech, Mahomes has quickly established himself as one of the best players in the game. In his first full season as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, he led them to the AFC Championship game and was named the league’s most valuable player.

The next two years, he directed the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, winning the game’s most valuable player award with a 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Prior to the start of the 2021 season, he was named the No. 1 player in ESPN’s list of the 100 top players in the National Football League.

This original oil painting is one in a series of portraits of some of Kansas City’s favorite contemporary sports figures completed in a 12” x 12” format. This piece was done in alla prima (wet-on-wet, in one session) using a variety of red shades over an underpainting done in transparent red oxide and ivory black.

This is an original oil painting on canvas. It measures 12” tall by 12” wide. It sells in a dark gray metal frame and is ready to hang. Free shipping in the U.S.
